For much of my life, I have felt that I have been walking on a tightrope, balancing art on one side and science on the other.
At other times I have focused on science: I volunteered for a UCSF pediatric orthopedic surgeon all over the Bay Area throughout high school and college, and I completed my PhD in Neuroscience from UCLA in 2017.
As I have followed each of these seemingly disparate interests, I realize that my passion lies at their intersection in bringing art and science together through creative science communication.
I founded the neuroscience education and outreach website Knowing Neurons, where young neuroscientists work together to translate complicated ideas about the brain and mind into engaging articles, infographics, interviews, and more!
My ability to distill scientific information into digestible bits that any audience can understand requires a balance of art and science that I hope to apply throughout my life and career.
